Of Light and Love
My upcoming three-piece EP, Of Light and Love, arrives December 4. The music moves through three perspectives: La vie pathétique looks at human struggle from above; O, to Be Loved explores first love, love shared through life, and love after death; and the final piece, the unfelted Le refuge, brings the story toward reassurance and refuge. Pre-save on album art.
La vie pathétique
A Journey between God and Man
A lonely figure.
A lonely world.
La vie pathétique
The opening theme of my original piano work, La vie pathétique, introduces a solitary figure separated from the Divine. His theme changes as the piece journeys through human civilization.
La vie pathétique — a full-length artistic piano film tracing a journey through human history, struggle, and humanity’s relationship with the Divine.
La vie pathétique — a new full three-angle performance in landscape and 4K, now on YouTube. Color-coded perspectives bring its motifs into view.

A Love Story | O, to Be Loved
This excerpt comes from the second of three love stories. A central melody returns throughout the piece, but its phrasing and character change as it moves from the immediacy of first love to the depth of spousal love, and finally to love that persists after death. The variations are connected musically while expressing different experiences of love.
The work draws on the Romantic piano tradition of Liszt’s Liebesträume and Schumann’s Widmung, and continues the Belle Époque language I explored in La vie pathétique.
